Care Package Program Operation Troop Support actively solicits donations of every kind of item that appears on our website donation list, as well as monetary contributions to handle postage expenses. We depend solely on donations to fund our weekly mailing expense of $800-$1000 to cover the 125 to150 boxes sent every Saturday morning. Special thanks go out to the many businesses who donate much needed supplies to uson an ongoing basis. Our thanks go out to the many civic groups who consistently remember our soldiers. As a reminder, donations can be dropped off at 16 Trinity Street in Danvers or the main branch of the Danversbank at 1 Conant Street in down town Danvers. In addition, if you belong to a group who would like to help out the soldiers, Please call Operation Troop Support at 978-774-5983 and ask for Christine Moody to discuss your project. Operation Troop Support is the conduit to get a little piece of home to our young men and women serving our country so far away. The satisfaction you'll get from knowing you brightened a soldier's day will be gratification that will last a long, long time. God Bless you all for caring. Item of the Month
This month, we will be collecting high rise socks for the troops. They are always in dire need for new clean socks on account of the terrible conditions overseas. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Holiday Gift Program This past holiday was another successful campaign for the generous people participating in Operation Troop Support. Through the generosity of thousands of individuals, businesses, civic groups, churches, schools, and even government organizations, 15,534 individually wrapped gifts and over 15,200 cards were sent to our troops in Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, the UAE, Qatar, Kurgystan, Cuba, and all the military hospitals. Returning soldiers relayed the message that ours were the only packages to reach sites along the Syrian border, and that Operation Troop Support was very well known at the Forward Operating Bases (FOBs). The 2007 Holiday program was so successful that the people are starting again for 2008. Due to the generosity of a storage company in Danvers called Extra Space Storage and Cranney Storage, who have donated climate controlled units to Operation Troop Support, the gifts will be stored until the shipping dates later this year. America called and you answered. What a wonderful sight!
